Monett High School athletics is off to a great start this year. The fall sports produced three district titles. The soccer team won its second district title since 2001 and lost to the eventual state champion team from Springfield Catholic in the sectional round. The Softball team won their 2nd straight district title (3rd title overall) and made it to the sectional round of the state playoffs losing to Blair Oaks. The football team won the district title over rival Cassville 10-6. The football team then defeated Eldon in the quarterfinal round and eventually fell to state runner-up John Burroughs in a close game. The fall sports teams garnered many honors including several all-conference, all-district, and all state athletes. It is a wonderful time to be a Cub!
