ImageMessage from the District Office
Mike Dawson, Assistant Superintendent

Dear Class of 2013,
I want to take a moment and congratulate you for completing this important milestone in your educational career. Throughout your K-12 learning experience, you have attended classes, written reports, created and presented information, and been quizzed and tested. On Friday, your parents/guardians and support circle will celebrate as you walk across the stage and receive your high school diploma.  For some, you will be the first to graduate in your, and for others it has been a long-standing expectation; however, on Friday night, you’re all the same: Monett R-1 graduates. Feelings of adoration, success, and accomplishments honoring your hard work and dedication will captivate everyone in the weeks to follow. Now what?  How will you represent your Monett R-1 diploma!

Monett Central Park Elementary
Annette Cozort, Principal

“It’s A Wrap!” at Central Park Elementary for the 2012-13 school year! We are winding down this school year by celebrating the completion of end of year assessments in MAP, summative assessments, post-checks, Developmental Reading Assessments, and reviewing the final data to celebrate the progress each student has made while in grade 3 or 4 this year! The last two weeks are filled with activities such as Academic Celebration time, when students will be jumping and playing on inflatables that our local YMCA has graciously loaned us. In addition, students will be rewarded with a walking trip to North Park to celebrate their MAP efforts! Our CPE fourth graders will attend a culminating field trip that aligns with their unit of study on Laura Ingalls Wilder, and third grade celebrates multiplication skills with a third grade party! All of these activities are rewards for the hard work and recognized growth in learning for CPE students!

Monett Intermediate School
Peg Bryan, Principal

At Monett Intermediate School, May has been spent celebrating our learning.  We started our celebration of learning with our MAP Pep Assembly.  Students had fun watching Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Harper sock wrestle and then four of their classmates as they reviewed how they can demonstrate EFFORT.  Effort looks like staying focused, staying positive, using your time well, rereading each question, and using the strategies you have learned in your classes.  “sNo White” also made an appearance in a Snow White costume.  Fifth grade teachers, sNo White, and teachers danced while reviewing what EFFORT looks like. Students were reminded to Not stay up late, Not to forget to eat breakfast, and other important testing preparation strategies.   Our very own MAP Superhero, Deb Williams, came out of our MAP cave and made an appearance. We appreciate all that our MAP Superhero does to make our MAP testing a success.
