     This past month the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) released our annual district report card under the new MSIP (Missouri School Improvement Program) 5 performance standards. This is DESE’s fifth revision of how districts are held accountable since its inception in 1990. Within MSIP 5, the report refines the state’s attempt to articulate the state’s expectations for student achievement with the ultimate goal of all students graduating ready for success in college and careers.”

This Week's Building Level and Departmental Update

     MES is kicking off a busy fall! All grade levels are in the process of completing academic baseline testing in reading and math to determine each child’s level of proficiency and then helping them set personal learning goals that they will monitor throughout the quarter. Working collaboratively, teachers and instructional coaches analyze the collected data to determine which students need an extra layer of support during the school day or tutoring services outside the school day. Classes and grade levels will also establish academic goals that will be monitored throughout the school year.
