Mike Dawson, Assistant Superintendent

Common Core State Standards are the new blueprints for states and districts in order to meet the challenges of raising learning expectations and preparing our K-12 students for college and career readiness. In the past, each state has been given the authority to design their own learning outcomes and their own accountability tools. Missouri implemented grade level and course level expectations (GLE/CLE) outlining key learning standards. We used the MAP test and end-of-course exams (EOC) to measure student progress. This mixed approach by each state resulted in adopting different standards, administering different exams, and reporting varying results. .

This Week's Building Level and Departmental Update

Monett Central Park Elementary

Annette Cozort, Principal

Janie White, Director

The start of the 2013-14 school year marks the beginning of the changes to the school breakfast program, which are much less dramatic.  The Wellness & Nutrition Team at Opaa! has been working toward the new breakfast changes for several years. Because of those gradual modifications, your students will see very little change in our breakfast menus this school year. We believe breakfast is the most important meal of the day and our menus are developed with this in mind.
