ImageMessage from the District Office
Brad Hanson, Superintendent

During the upcoming week of October 21-25, the Monett R-1 School District will host the annual fall parent-teacher conferences. This event is designed to allow parents the opportunity to communicate with their son/daughter’s teacher concerning any questions they might have relating to the student’s current progress, as well as providing a time for the teacher (and school district) to deliver any relevant information to the parent. Typically, this event is held after first quarter grade reports have been sent home, thus providing a starting point for questions and conversation. It is our hope and goal to have each and every parent participate in these conferences!

Susie Gasser, Principal

This past weekend was the 3rd annual MES Family Fun Fest. This event is held the first Saturday in October and is organized by our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). This year’s chairpersons were Julie Southard and Emily Lynn, and parents and teachers alike worked hard to make sure there were plenty of activities for students to enjoy! The Family Fun Fest serves as the major PTO fundraiser for the year. Money raised from the fun fest goes toward defraying the cost of some of the field trips taken by students each year.

Mrs. Dunn and Mrs. Henry serve Monett Elementary School students as elementary school counselors. Many people are unaware of what services these ladies provide in our school. The elementary school counselor’s role is three-fold: counselor, coordinator, and consultant. The school counselor fills a need in the elementary student’s life with help of a preventive nature.
